Baseball Specific
Training
From our Hitting
Systems
to
our
Training
Systems
we
are
geared
to
the
specificity
of
the
game
of
baseball.
Sport
Specific simply means you need to train movements that are similar to the
sport-related movement in order to have a greater transfer of these results to
performance in competition.We promote a
training philosophy where the program is built to influence your baseball performance, not
just physical appearance.This model is
beneficial because it allows us to refine athletic conditioning, prevent
injury, and construct appropriate energy systems related to the game of baseball.

Our training
system is not designed to be for everybody. It’s designed to be for you!
Q: What is the difference training at Triple Threat compared to working
out at school?
A: At Triple Threat, we test and evaluate each athlete and design a
program to specifically meet the goals and needs unique to the individual. We take into consideration age, maturity,
injury history, training history, assessment data, and baseball goals when
designing our programs. We can still work around your school training
programs
with
your
specific
needs.
Strength
training programs in the school setting are designed as generalized programs
that will be the easiest to administer.Individual needs of the athlete and the specific demands of baseball are
usually neglected and in general not taken into consideration.
Q: How is your program specific to baseball?
A: The Triple Threat training program is designed specifically for
baseball athletes.Although the result
will be a better overall athlete, we have tailored our program to baseball’s
unique demands.Baseball specific
movements and exercises are used to maximize performance on the field as well
as minimize the potential for injury.
Q: How many times per week should I work out?
A: The frequency of training varies and is specific to the needs and
goals of the athlete as well as the time of the year. In general, our high
school athletes train 2 to 4 days per week.
Q: Do our athletes work out during the season?
A: Yes.It is critical to follow
an in-season strength and conditioning program in order to maintain strength
gains achieved during the off-season.The workouts are altered and shortened due to the rigors of the
competitive season. One to two strength and conditioning sessions along with one hitting session per week is
sufficient to maintain strength and hitting gains.
Q: How long does a training session last?
A: During the off-season, our high school athletes typically work out
for 90 minutes for 3 to 4 times per week. This time includes strength and conditioning, speed work, flexibility
training, and hitting.In-season
workouts typically last 60 minutes with a modified workout designed to maintain
off-season gains.
Q: Do you address nutrition?
A: Yes. We believe that ultimate training gains cannot be achieved
without the proper fuel.We teach
nutrition principles during our training sessions. We also address the question of supplements
and whether they are safe for high school athletes. We encourage the use of products that have
been tested and approved to be safe and healthy. We have a close relationship with Bio
Nutritional Research Group (BNRG) and offer their products to those athletes
who desire the added benefits of using nutritional supplements. We do not condone or support the use of any
type of non-legal performance enhancing product. All of the supplements we
offer are safe, age-appropriate and available at Triple Threat.
