questions

from

concerning
training.
Q: Is weight training safe for young athletes?
A: The answer depends on
the age, maturity, injury history, baseball experience and assessment data for
the individual athlete.Weight training
in general is not suggested for athletes who have not reached puberty.Strength and conditioning through
plyometrics, stretching, and speed training is the preferred method for training
young athletes.By improving a young
athlete’s coordination, agility, and strength the potential for injury is
reduced. We have designed a program for
young athletes that is safe, challenging and fun, and uses equipment that lends
itself to the safe training of young athletes.
Q: Is it possible to
improve speed and athleticism in young athletes?
A: Absolutely.By utilizing speed, agility, reaction drills,
and functional training a young athlete’s body will develop to create a quicker
and more agile athlete.Triple Threat’s
program will teach your young baseball athlete to be faster, more athletic and
more capable of executing the specific skills unique to baseball.
Q: Will your program
counteract or hinder the on-field instruction?
A: No. With the
increased athleticism gained through training, coaches should have an easier
time teaching the skills of baseball.Because our training is baseball specific, adjustments on the field will
be easier to accomplish because your young athlete will have the advantage of
body awareness and movement control.
Q: How many days per
week should my young athlete train?
A: We recommend at least
1 to 2 times per week for 60 minutes.At
Triple Threat training is vigorous and intense, but we tailor our youth training
program to meet the needs of the younger athlete while being enjoyable. We encourage a positive training experience
so that the foundation is laid for ongoing success as they progress onto high
school baseball, college baseball, and beyond.
